Set Gdebi in Ubuntu 16.04 to install .deb-packages instead of the Ubuntu Software
Developers Ubuntu have decided to refuse delivery in the Ubuntu 16.04 of their own interface to install applications Ubuntu Software Center and use instead the regular installer application GNOME – Ubuntu Software .
Compared with the Ubuntu Software Center , Ubuntu Software run faster, but that its benefits come to an end. For example, setting .deb-package is a “sloppy” or refuses to install the package.
If you need to install the program .deb- Service , then I would recommend the program gdebi
Gdebi – the program to install .deb packages , developed by the Corporation Canonical specifically for the Ubuntu . It was enabled by default in the Ubuntu to version Ubuntu 10.10 , as its functionality has been added to the Ubuntu Software Center . Gdebi is commonly used in the graphic form, but it is also possible to use the command line (dpkg).
Gdebi may set the .deb packages using automatic dependency resolution (automatically downloads and installs the required packages).
gdebi allows the .deb packages with a local drive, loaded directly, and not from the repositories, wherein determining and setting their dependence. apt does the same, but only for remotely located (http, ftp) packages.
Install Gdebi with the following command in the terminal:
Please note that after installing the need to restore compliance with the opening of the program gdebi .deb-files. Suggests any .deb file , click the right mouse button, select in Properties menu , further in the Open With , select Setup packages GDebi and Set as default :
Now when you prenapravili line for installation program deb-package on the Gdebi , load the desired package from the network and the browser (Firefox) download window see – Open in the – setup gdebi (default):
We click OK and the file has finished downloading, open automatically in the Gdebi , where the Status is displayed that all dependencies are satisfied and still click on the Install package :
That’s all. Problem solved. The program is installed
fun
